The DURIOS N8 Ultra

The DURIOS N8 Ultra UMPC is rather new in the Acturion product portfolio. Because of its small size the DURIOS N8 Ultra belongs to the category of Ultra Mobile PCs, called shortly UMPCs. Intel has developed the ATOM Processor especially for applications in MDAs, PDAs and UMPCs and intimately this CPU works inside the Durios N8 Ultra UMPC, at 1.1GHz (standard) and at 1.6GHz optionally.

The housing of the DURIOS N8 Ultra UMPC is completely sealed according to IP54 hence the UMPC belongs to the product class of full-ruggedized mobile PCs. Without the detachable rubber bumpers the DURIOS N8 Ultra measures 280 x 205 x 35 mm only at a weight of circa 1.5 kg. With the rubber bumpers attached the measures grow to 289 x 214 x 46 mm and the weight grows to circa 1.7 kg. The DURIOS N8 Ultra UMPC has a sunlight readable 8.4" SVGA-Display which can be operated by finger touch via resistive touch screen.

The DURIOS N8 Ultra UMPC is designed for operation in harsh industrial environment. The full-rugged UMPC has a robust ABS plastic housing and offers even in the base configuration a complete range of useful features like, 2x USB 2.0, 1x mini USB Port, WLAN b/g/n standard, GPS onboard with SiRF Star III Chip, 1.3MP CMOS camera and so on.
